Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Hicks of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Elise Rebecca Hicks, to Adam Timothy Clem of Surf City, N.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Clem of Athens.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Lemay of Athens and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hicks of Elkmont.
She is a 2005 graduate of Athens High School and a 2010 graduate of Auburn University where she recieved a degree in chemical engineering. She is currently attending medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Dorning of Athens and Annie Bell Clem of Athens and the late Mary Dorning and Willis Clem. He is a 2005 graduate of Athens High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received a business administration degree in finance and real estate.
He is employed by the United States Marine Corps as 1st Lt. combat engineer officer in the 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, 2d Marine Division.
The wedding is planned for June 9 at Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica.
