Brandon Sanderfer has proven to be a pivotal part of the Clements offense this season.
In the past eight weeks, the sophomore has come up with big plays when the Colts needed them most and Friday night was no exception.
Just two plays into the second half, Red Bay scored on a 26-yard run to dwindle the Colts lead to 18-13. But it was Sanderfer's 64-yard touchdown on the next play that helped boost Clements confidence for the rest of the game. Sanderfer finished the night with 182 yards and three touchdowns on runs of 16, 28 and 64 yards. He also returned an interception 77 yards for a touchdown.
For his performance, Sanderfer is selected as this week's Crunch Player of the Week.
"We played great," Sanderfer said. "It feels great to get a win over Red Bay. I've got to give credit to the line and the offense. They did a good job."
Clements coach Barry Daniel praised Sanderfer for his effort against the Tigers Friday night.
"He had a great game for us," Daniel said. "He's had some good runs and good blocking this season and Friday night was no exception. He's a good, young player who has worked hard all year."
