Brazeal, Bridges co-Crunch Players of Week

There’s no doubt that Jamison Bridges loves the game of football. It’s obvious by the amount of time he puts into it.

When he gets through with classes shortly after lunch everyday, the Clements quarterback can usually be found hanging out in coach Barry Daniels’ classroom going over plays, talking about what he could have done different during the previous week’s game and sometimes even learning a new play or two. And if time allows, he’ll head into the field house to watch film, all before heading to the practice field with his team.

It may sound like Bridges is putting in a lot of extra time that isn’t required, but it paid off in a big way Friday night.

Bridges finished the night 10-of-16 for 255 yards and five touchdowns in the 47-12 win over Westminster.

“I feel like I played pretty good,” Bridges said. “I had a lot more time to throw the ball. The line did a good job blocking and the receivers did a good job after they got the ball. I was just happy with the way the whole team played. We didn’t play well in our first two road games and Friday night we came out and did that.”

Bridges wasn’t the only one from Limestone County who put up big numbers Friday night.

Elkmont’s Dylan Brazeal helped the Red Devils to a win over Colbert Heights with his 308 yards of total offense. He finished the night 11-of-19 with four touchdowns.

For their performances this week, Bridges and Brazeal are co-Crunch Players of the Week.
