Boy Scout Christmas trees

East Limestone Boy Scout Troop 7236 will hold their sixth annual Fraser Fir Christmas trees sale today through Dec. 18. The sale location is the corner of East Limestone and Capshaw roads at the old Reliance Bank lot. Proceeds will be used to purchase troop camping equipment.

SUNDAY

Free stew

A free stew event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Tanner Senior Center, 13589 Lucas Ferry Road next to the Boys & Girls Club. Dine in only. No carryouts. Toys for Tots

Champion Chevrolet will host Toys for Tots from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday at their 921 S. Clinton St. location in Athens. Contact: 256-232-5692.

Used book sale

The Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday at the library at 405 E. South St. Contact: 256-232-1233.

Zumba party

Athens ladies Civitan will hold a Zumba party at 6 p.m. Tuesday during its monthly meeting at the First National Bank community room at the corner of Lindsay Lane and U.S. 72 East. Angel tree

Champion Chrysler Dodge Jeep will host an Angel Tree from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday at their 907 S. Clinton St. location in Athens. Contact: 256-232-8787.

Athens/Limestone County books sale

Friends of the Archives have reduced the price of some of their best-selling books. You can purchase “Treasures of Athens and Limestone County” for $50; “Athens, AL 1861-1865” for $30; “Letters to L&N” for $25; and “Diary of R.B. Meadows” for $10. New books available include “Athens Post and Weekly Post of 1867” and “Schools of Athens and Limestone County,” each $35. Books may be purchased at the Limestone County Archives, Pablo’s on Market and U.G. White. Contact Archives at 256-233-6404.

Holiday Home Tour

Athens Ladies Civitan Club is selling tickets for their Holiday Home Tour to be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For information on homes to be toured and ticket locations, contact Carolyn Stair 256-233-0258 or Carol Malone 256-232-2865.

“Crowns” ad deadline extended

The deadline to advertise in the souvenir program for the Frank Travis production of the musical gospel “Crowns” has been extended to Wednesday, Dec. 5. • Athens Forge. Athens Blacksmith Forge will meet at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 24, at Travis Flemings Artistic Anvil Forge on Commercial Drive in Athens. Visitors welcome.
