AHS Veterans Day
Athens High School invites the public to a Veterans Day assembly at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the south gymnasium. A reception will follow on the JROTC rifle range.

Veterans Day Parade
The second annual Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday and follows the Christmas parade route from Athens High School and through the downtown square to Hometown Grocery. Lineup will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
Coffee Call
The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives Coffee Call, sponsored by Walter and Henry Miller, will be from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at 100 W. Pryor St. For more information, call the museum at (256) 771-7578.
Buffet breakfast
The Bethel, Tenn. Masonic Lodge will serve a buffet breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday. Everyone is invited. Proceeds go to charity. All active military and veterans eat free.
Antique tractor rally
The Limestone County Farmers Federation Farm City Antique Tractor Rally is Saturday in Elkmont. Unloading from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Snap-on-Tool plant on Wire Road and the travel route is 10 miles. The VFW invites the public to a Veterans Day observance at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the post on Alabama 127. Attorney General Troy King will be the guest speaker and free chicken stew will be served.
