AHS Veterans Day

Athens High School invites the public to a Veterans Day assembly at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the south gymnasium. A reception will follow on the JROTC rifle range.



Respite night

Caregivers Night Out will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Isom's Chapel United Methodist Church, 16230 Mooresville Road. Please make reservations by calling RSVP Office at (256) 232-7207 no later than noon, Thursday.



VFW Auxiliary fish fry

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will have a fish fry from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday. Dine in or carry out. The building is at 18615 Alabama 127. Call (256) 233-4941 or 233-1067.

Veterans Day Parade

The second annual Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday and follows the Christmas parade route from Athens High School and through the downtown square to Hometown Grocery. Lineup will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Registration to be in the parade ends today, Nov. 4. Call (256) 374-2073 to register.



Coffee Call

The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives Coffee Call, sponsored by Walter and Henry Miller, will be from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at 100 W. Pryor St. For more information, call the museum at (256) 771-7578.



Buffet breakfast

The Bethel, Tenn. Masonic Lodge will serve a buffet breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday. Everyone is invited. Proceeds go to charity. All active military and veterans eat free.



Antique tractor rally

The Limestone County Farmers Federation Farm City Antique Tractor Rally is Saturday in Elkmont. Unloading from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Snap-on-Tool plant on Wire Road and the travel route is 10 miles. West Limestone VFD fundraiser

A four-week, door-to-door fund-picture drive conducted by the West Limestone Volunteer Fire Department began Oct. 27. Donations go toward the purchase of new turnout gear for firemen.

A four-week, door-to-door fund-picture drive conducted by the Tanner Volunteer Fire Department began Oct. 28. Donations go toward the purchase of new turnout gear for firemen.
