2 Kool 4 Skool

2 Kool 4 Skool, Alabama’s state-funded pre-k program is offering a family enrichment event, Breast Cancer Awareness class, from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the Childcare Education Resource office on South Jefferson Street with Connie Wood presenting. Call (256) 230-3232.



AHS Band Spirit Night

Athens High School Band Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday. Athens Chick-fil-A will donate a percentage of sales to the AHS band. Please fill out a spirit card available from band members or online at www.athenshighband.com and turn it in when you place your order so the band will receive credit.



TUESDAY

Trick or treat for food bank

Limestone County Career Technical School student organizations, FBLA, HOSA, and SKILLS USA will be dressed in costumes and trick-or-treating for canned goods and non-perishable items from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in various subdivisions. The donated items will benefit our local food bank.



Used book sale

Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the library.



Toys for Tots signup

Toys for Tots signup will be from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the United Way office, 419 S. Marion St. Each family must bring birth certificates, Social Security cards and proof of residence for children age birth to 16. An additional sign-up day will be Nov. 10. Relay for Life kickoff

There will be a Relay for Life Kickoff Party from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Activities will include a costume party for children under 10. Call event chairperson Monica Davis at (256) 874-6646.

“A Taste of Tradition” fundraiser

Athens Garden Club will host a fundraiser sidewalk sale of their cookbook “A Taste of Tradition,” from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Pablo’s on Market. The book is $15. Pancake breakfast

American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary will serve a pancake, sausage, bacon, milk, orange juice and coffee breakfast from 6:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at 124 Cloverleaf Drive behind Staples. All you can eat for $5. Public is invited.

Vendors needed

Vendors are needed for the Nov. 14 Santa’s Village and Marketplace at Brookhill School. Vendor fee is $40 and includes a 10-by-10-foot space with table, two chairs and two meal tickets. Applications are online at brookhillelementary.org or in the school office. Call (256) 233-6603.

Spot the History

The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives “Spot the History” for children ages 7-9 and 10-12 continues through October. Winners in each age group will win a $100 savings bond. Call the museum at (256) 771-7578.



AHS band stew tickets

Athens High School band is selling chicken stew tickets through Oct. 30. The cost is $5 per quart. Stew may be picked up Nov. 10, 11, or 12 in front of the school. Please see any band member or band parent for preorders.



ABS fruit sale

Athens Bible School fruit sale is being conducted through Nov. 24. Pick up fruit between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Dec. 5. Call (256) 232-3525.
