• Women’s Conference. The sixth annual Round Island Creek Missionary Baptist Association Women’s Conference wraps up Oct. 6. A panel discussion on “God’s Plan for Salvation” will be at 9 a.m. Door prizes. Vendors available. Contact: Imogene Malone 256-232-6247.

• Yard sale. Pettusville Methodist Church at 29035 Pettusville Road in Elkmont will hold a yard sale from 7-11 a.m. today, Oct. 6. Proceeds to the Fellowship Hall Building Fund.

• Chicken stew fundraiser. Oak Grove CME Church will have a Relay for Life chicken stew fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Oct. 6, at the church at 11460 Cowford Road in Athens by the Cowford Fire Station. Cost is $6 and containers are provided.

• Appreciation service. Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their pastor and first lady fifth Appreciation Service at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. Minister Tavares Townsend will preach at the 11 a.m. service. Pastor Charles Simmons and the Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church will be in charge of the 2:30 p.m. service. Public invited.

• Arts Day. Pleasant Grove Church Family Music Ministry will celebrate their Music and Worship Arts Day on Sunday, Oct. 7. Prayer service at 8 a.m., Sunday school at 9 a.m., and worship at 10 a.m. The church is located at 15439 Hastings Road in Athens. Public invited.

• Pastoral anniversary. Indian Creek P.B. Church will celebrate the 16th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Timothy M. Rainey at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7. The Rev. Melvin Robinson, pastor of Crumbey Bethel P.B. Church in Fairfield will be the guest preacher for the combined worship service. Public is invited.

• Revival.  Gospel singer-evangelist Evelyn Turrentine-Agee will be the speaker at a two-night revival, Oct. 11 and 12, at Jesus and Me Ministries, 115 Gordon St., Pulaski, Tenn. For more information, call Bishop Brenda Young Jones at 931-309-1549.

• Family and Friends Day. Family and Friends Day at Jerusalem P.B. Church in Belle Mina will hold Family and Friends Day at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.  Elder Joe Cater and Bethlehem P.B. Church will be the guest church in charge of services. Public is invited.

• Breast cancer program. Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church Women’s Ministry will present a breast cancer awareness program during morning worship service on Sunday, Oct. 14. Betty Gilbert from Little Ezekiel M.B. Church will be the speaker.

• Gospel meeting. Northside Church of Christ at 1201 N. Jefferson St. will hold a gospel meeting Oct. 14-17 featuring speaker James Hinkle. Monday through Wednesday services are at 7 p.m. Sunday services will be at 10 and 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Contact: 256-232-3179.

    The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives will host a Memorial Day ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Limestone County Event Center on Pryor Street across from the Veterans Museum.
