Do Da Parade

The Athens-Limestone Beautification Board’s Dogwood Festival Do Da Parade has been moved to Athens State University due to the threat of rain. The Elkmont Volunteer Fire Department Bean Day will be held from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. today at the Elkmont Fire Hall. Cost is $3 for beans, cornbread, slaw, dessert and drink.

Jedwabne Massacre discussion

Dr. Charles “Rick” Roberts will speak from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Monday in the Center for Lifelong Learning conference room on the downtown Square. No charge. The topic is events that led to the Jedwabne Massacre of 1,600 Jewish residents by local citizens in Poland during World War II and its meaning in historical and ethical terms.

Storybook Ball

Tickets are on sale for the Storybook Ball where adults and children can dine with their favorite book characters from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Limestone County Event Center.
