Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will have a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the library.



WEDNESDAY

Fire safety for seniors

Friends of Ardmore Public Library will host the Ardmore Fire Department, which will present a CPR demonstration and fire safety talk for the elderly at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library on Main Street.



FRIDAY

Respite night

Caregivers Night Out will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Clements Baptist Church on U.S. 72 West. Please make reservations by calling RSVP Office at (256) 232-7207 no later than noon, Thursday, Feb. 11.



SATURDAY

Tanner VFD stew

Tanner Volunteer Fire Department will have a chicken stew beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday.



Black history celebration

The Trinity High Class of 1966 will hold the 24th annual Black History Month Celebration at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Village View United Methodist Church. Guest speaker is the Rev. Galon Darby of Dixon, Ill. For more information, call Shelbye Hobbs at (256) 233-2264.

Wonderful Wednesdays

Every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., through May 19, Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is offering “Wonderful Wednesdays” informative tours. Appointments are not necessary.



Black History items needed

The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives is asking the public for the donation or loan of black veterans’ military items for display during Black History Month throughout February. Items can be brought to the museum or picked up, if needed. Call Museum Director Sandra Thompson, at (256) 771-7578.

Dinner theater tickets

Tickets for the Bill Hunt Dinner Theatre are now on sale at Athens-Limestone Public Library. The show is Friday, Feb. 12, and tickets are $35 each. Please call the library at (256) 232-1233 for more information.
