Cars on the Square

The 5th annual Cars on the Square car show will take place 8-3 p.m. Saturday, April 28. Cost to show a vehicle is $20 and can be paid the day of the event. Registration is from 7 a.m. to noon. Proceeds benefit Hospice of Limestone County, Spirit of Athens Downtown Façade Fund and Limestone County Churches Involved. Cub Scout fundraiser

Walking tours

The final April Historic Walking Tour will be held Saturday. Walkers should meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Athens Visitors Center at 100 N. Beaty St. Walks begin promptly at 10 a.m. and last about an hour. Benefit singing

A benefit singing to celebrate the legacy of Dewey Chastian will be held Saturday, April 28 at Majestic Chapel on Hays Mill Road. Food sales begin at 5 p.m. and singing at 7 p.m. Singers are An Anonymous Woman & Sidekick featuring Georgia from Mercy. A silent auction and cake auction will take place at the event. Children’s chorale

The Heritage Children’s Chorale will present “Bound for Glory” as part of the Spring Concert Series at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Round Island Baptist Church, 14790 Browns Ferry Road in Athens. Free admission. The choir is made up of children ages 8-18 from North Alabama and southern Tennessee.

Athens-Limestone Beautification Board annual Dogwood Festival Vintage Fashion Show and Luncheon to be held at noon Tuesday at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center has been cancelled. If tickets have already been purchased, please contact the person who sold the tickets for a refund.

Firefighter fundraiser

The Owens Volunteer Fire Department door-to-door fundraiser begins April 25 and continues for approximately four weeks. Donations will be used to help purchase hoses and equipment for their new firetruck.
