• Valentine Tea
. Fancy dresses and Sunday suits are welcome at the annual Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church Valentine Tea at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at 27971 Easter Ferry Road. Bible discussions, games, food and fun. No services at the church Feb. 24.

• Quarterly singing. Oakland Church of Christ will hold its quarterly singing at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at 18111 Townsend Ford Road in Athens. Public is invited. Contact: 256-233-8775.

• Black history celebration. The Trinity High School Class of 1966 will host its Black History Month Celebration at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Village View United Methodist Church. Pastor Gaylon Darby will be the guest speaker. Music is provided by the Round Island Male Choir.

    An information booth with educational materials and someone to answer questions about Alzheimer’s disease will be available from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at Walgreens on U.S. 31 North in Athens across from the high school.

    Athens-Limestone Emergency Food and Shelter, located at 20086 Swanner Blvd. in Tanner, will celebrate its 30th anniversary at a community party from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Events include large yard sale, health screenings and free food beginning at noon.
