Revival. Ebenezer M.B. Church invites the public to their second annual Citywide Revival at 7 nightly Jan. 8-11. Featured ministers and musical guests are: Jan. 8, Jeremy Gardner and Pleasant Grove choir; Jan. 9, Tavaris Townsend and The Townsend Family; Jan. 10, Jimmy Bailey and The Woodruff Family; and Jan. 11, Bishop Elijah Gray III and Harvest Time. Classes. The North Alabama Center of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary will hold classes for Term III on Thursdays, Jan. 24-March 14 at First Baptist Church in Athens. Bible Teaching Certificate class (6-8 p.m.) will be “Introduction to OT: The Prophets” taught by David O. Cofield, pastor, CrossRoads Baptist Church, Rogersville. Benefit car wash/raffle
A benefit car wash and raffle will be held from 8-11 a.m. today, June 15, in Applebee’s parking lot on U.S. 72 for an Athens child born premature and now in Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Car wash is $10 and participants receive a $5-off coupon for Appebee’s and are entered in a raffle later this month involving food items from several local businesses. Donations welcome. Flag Day
Athens State University will host its annual Flag Day ceremony sponsored by the Athens State Alumni Association at noon, today, June 14, in the Sandridge Student Center ballroom. A cookout will follow. Guest speaker is Lt. Gen. Jim Pillsbury, the retired deputy-commanding general of the U.S. Army Materiel Command at Redstone Arsenal.
