Revival. New Hopewell Baptist Church at 11479 Dogwood Flat Road in Tanner will host a revival at 7 nightly through May 18, featuring speaker Larry Davidson, pastor of Willow Grove Baptist Church in Prospect, Tenn. Singing each night. Contact: 256-233-0156,

Revival. Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church at 13363 Stateline Road in Taft, Tenn., will hold a revival at 7 nightly through May 18, featuring Greg Eaton, pastor of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church and singings each night. Contact: Pastor Rusty Lincoln at 256-423-4429.

Free meal. Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America will host a free Day of Love: Feed the Hungry meal from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the corner of Plato Jones and Brownsferry streets. A free health fair also is offered. Contact: 256-233-5995 or 256-232-8706.

Benefit singing. Crossroads Church on U.S. 31, formerly Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, will host a benefit singing from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 19 featuring The Terrys and other singing groups. Proceeds will help pay funeral expenses for Leoma Moore. 

Community cookout/homecoming. Westside Church of Christ at 25704 Smithfield Road in Elkmont will host a community cookout from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.  Saturday, May 19. Homecoming events on Sunday, May 20 include worship at 10 a.m.; Bible study, 11:15 a.m.; lunch, 12:30 p.m.; worship, 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Elizah Bush of Avondale Church of Christ in Birmingham.

• Homecoming. Bethel Baptist Church near Anderson will hold a concert featuring The Kingsmen at 10:30 a.m. May 20. Lunch will be served afterward. Contact: 256-324-0001.

Pastor anniversary. St. Paul Wales Missionary Baptist Church in Pulaski will celebrate Pastor Leonard Shackleford’s sixth anniversary May 20. Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be Bishop Elijah Gray III from Harvest Time Ministries in Decatur; the Rev. Lonnie Orr and the Christ in Me Church from Pell City will be in charge of the 2:30 p.m. service. A meal will be served between services. Contact: 931-633-7420

Anniversary. Peace Missionary Baptist Church at 1214 Plainview Circle in Athens will hold its church anniversary May 27.  Speaker for the 11 a.m. service is the Rev. J.E. Turnbore and Pastor Tim Townsend of Mt. Nebo M.B. Church will speak at 2 p.m.

Education Day. Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church at 27971 Easter Ferry Road in Lester will host an Education Day with guest speakers Canita Rogers, music minister, and the Rev. Harold Weatherly, of Union Chapel M.B. Church in Huntsville. Contact: 256-233-5225.

Summer enrichment. Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Athens is still taking applications for its Pathfinders Summer Enrichment Program for children ages 5-13 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays beginning May 29 at 14204 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens. Parent orientation is at 5 p.m. Sunday May 27. Cost is $70 per week. Register at 256-233-2461.

Concert. Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens will host Gold City Quartet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31. Offering received.

VBS. Clements Baptist Church at 8690 U.S. 72 West in Athens will hold vacation Bible school 9 a.m.-noon June 4-7 with the theme “Amazing Wonders of Aviation.” VBS is for children entering first-through sixth grades in fall. VBS concludes with Family Night featuring food and games from 6:30 -8 p.m. June 7. Contact: 256-729-1328.

Garden party. Hearts and Hands Knitting Ministry of First United Methodist Church of Athens will hold its seventh annual garden party from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, June 7 in the Beasley Center. Guest speaker will be Rushan Smyth, founder of Peniel Pillows in Tuscaloosa. Tickets are $15. Call the church office by June 1 at 256-232-2020 to reserve a spot.

Southern Stitchers. The embroidery group Southern Stitchers will meet from 9-11 a.m. the first and third Saturdays of each month at First United Methodist Church in downtown Athens. Contact: Julia Lea, 256-232-2044.
