MONDAY

Mud Volleyball deadline

Deadline for the 21st Annual CASA Mud Volleyball tournament is noon Monday. Entry forms may be found at the CASA office located at 409 South Marion St. in Athens, by calling (256) 232-5751, or visiting the Web site at www.casalimestonecounty.org. Entry fee is $15 per person. TUESDAY

FC Friends

The Florida College Friends will present a show and information about the school at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Athens Bible School’s Rollings-Lovell Auditorium. Admission is free. There will be a potluck dinner in the ABS Cafeteria at 5 p.m. Bring a dish and enjoy the evening.



Juggling workshops

Athens-Limestone Public Library will have juggling workshops Tuesday. Classes for children 5-8 years will be at 10:15 a.m.; and for 9-13, at 11:30 a.m. Limit 15 to each. There is a $3 registration fee, which includes supplies. Call Paula Laurita at (256) 232-1233.



FRIDAY

Antique boat show

The Dixieland Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society will hold its 25th Annual boat show at Joe Wheeler Resort Marina July 10-12. Boats displayed are mostly restored wooden boat over 50 years old. Owners will be on hand to discuss the boats. Admission is free. The public is invited. Fish fry

The Bethel, Tenn., Masonic Lodge No. 914 F&AM; will have its annual fish fry from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the community center in Bethel. Adults $9; children 12 and under, $4. Eat in or carry out. Ice cream and cold drinks available. Public is invited



Benefit for Kyle Redding

A benefit to raise funds to pay medical expenses for Kyle Redding, 7, son of Michael and Dena Redding, will be from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at The Barn on Railroad Street in Town Creek featuring five bands, a yard sale, bake sale and auction. Music begins at noon featuring The Country Crossroads Band, The Barnett Band, Rural Impact, The Trey Morgan Band and Sunday Tradition. Clements VFD fundraiser

• Athens Dulcimers. The Athens Dulcimers will meet for their regular jam session at 6:30 tonight, July 2 at the Athens Recreation Center. Acoustic instrument players and audience are welcome. For more information, call (256) 233-1262 or 233-0192.

• Piece Makers Guild. The Piece Makers Quilt Guild will meet at 7 tonight, July 2, at the Masonic Lodge at Lucas Ferry and Elm streets. Sara Green will lead in games of “Quilt-O.” Call (256) 232-8944.

• American Legion. American Legion Post 49 and Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 tonight, July 2.

• VVA. Vietnam Veterans of America will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the chapter building at Lucas Ferry and W. Elm streets.

• 4-H Beef Club. The Limestone County 4-H Beef Club will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Limestone County Extension Office to discuss upcoming youth

    Coupon clipping
    Athens High School Future Business Leaders of America will host a coupon-clipping class from 6-8 tonight in the Athens High School cafeteria.  Tickets are $10 each in advance and may be purchased from any AHS FBLA member or by emailing Lori Jones or Brandi Foster at brandi.foster@acs-k12.org or lori.jones@acs-k12.org.
