VFW Auxiliary fish fry

VFW Ladies Auxiliary will have a fish fry Friday at the VFW building at 18615 Alabama 127. Dine in or carry out. Call (256) 233-4941.



Blood drive

An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday at Superior Bank, 1319 U.S. 72 in Athens. All donors receive a T-shirt, coupons for free food items and are entered to win a $1,000 gasoline card to be given away in three months. Call (256) 990-0830 for more information. There will also be a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday at Athens Walmart,



SATURDAY

SOA Cruise In

The Spirit of Athens-sponsored Cruise In on the Square will be from 3-9 p.m. Saturday around the Courthouse. All antique and hot rod vehicles and vintage bicycles are welcome. Call Bland Allen at (256) 603-1227.



Tea Party

Limestone County residents are invited to join Morgan County residents for a “Celebration of America,” part of the Tea Party Movement, from 9-11 a.m. Saturday in Gateway Shopping Center on Sixth Avenue in Decatur. Call Deborah King at (256) 559-0980.



Buffet breakfast

The Bethel, Tenn. Masonic Lodge will serve a buffet-style breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday. Everyone is invited. Proceeds go to charity.



Coffee Call

The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives Coffee Call is from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at 100 W. Pryor St. It is sponsored by the Alabama National Guard 203rd Battalion. For more information, call Vicki or Sandy at (256) 771-7578.



MONDAY

Mud Volleyball deadline

Deadline for the 21st Annual CASA Mud Volleyball tournament is noon Monday. Entry forms may be found at the CASA office located at 409 South Marion St. in Athens, by calling (256) 232-5751, or visiting the Web site at www.casalimestonecounty.org. Entry fee is $15 per person. TUESDAY

FC Friends

The Florida College Friends will present a show and information about the school at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Athens Bible School's Rollings-Lovell Auditorium. Admission is free. There will be a potluck dinner in the ABS Cafeteria at 5 p.m. Bring a dish and enjoy the evening.



Juggling workshops

Athens-Limestone Public Library will have juggling workshops Tuesday. Classes for children 5-8 years will be at 10:15 a.m.; and for 9-13, at 11:30 a.m. Limit 15 to each. There is a $3 registration fee, which includes supplies. Call Paula Laurita at (256) 232-1233.

Clements VFD fundraiser

The Clements Volunteer Fire Department is conducting a door-to-door fund/picture drive to purchase new air packs. Call Billy or Sharron Haggermaker at (256) 777-0270 or 751-3401.



Kiddie Carnival

Athens Lions Club Kiddie Carnival is now open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30-9:30. Ride tickets are 50 cents with 10 rides including swings, Ferris wheel, roller coaster and the train. Bingo and concessions available at the Kiddie Carnival located on Forrest Street across from Athens Middle School.







MEETINGS

Athens Dulcimers. The Athens Dulcimers will meet for their regular jam session at 6:30 tonight, July 2 at the Athens Recreation Center. Acoustic instrument players and audience are welcome. For more information, call (256) 233-1262 or 233-0192.

o Piece Makers Guild. The Piece Makers Quilt Guild will meet at 7 tonight, July 2, at the Masonic Lodge at Lucas Ferry and Elm streets. Sara Green will lead in games of “Quilt-O.” Call (256) 232-8944.

o American Legion. American Legion Post 49 and Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 tonight, July 2.

o VVA. Vietnam Veterans of America will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the chapter building at Lucas Ferry and W. Elm streets.

o 4-H Beef Club. The Limestone County 4-H Beef Club will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Limestone County Extension Office to discuss upcoming youth
