o Patriotic celebration. Blackburn Road Baptist Church will host a Freedom Celebration from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 17836 Blackburn Road in Athens on Sunday, July 5. Past and present members of all branches of military service will be recognized. Hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon served. Games, moon bounce and obstacle course for children. o Mothers and deacons. Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church in Belle Mina will have its mothers' and deacons' celebration at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5. Guest church in charge will be New Heaven C.P. Church of Belle Mina and pastor Ernest Bailey. Everyone is invited to attend.
o Benefit. Pleasant Grove CPCA Church will hold a gospel benefit for Rantavion Scott, a 13-year-old leukemia patient, at 15389 Hasting Road at 5 p.m. July 11.
