Vidalia onions deadline

War time decision making
Dr. Tom Pieplow will discuss Great Britain military leadership decisions made in World War II aimed at confusing the German high command concerning a planned attack on Sicily. The talk is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday in the Center for Lifelong Learning conference room on the courthouse Square. No charge.

Prayer breakfast
The Athens Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Beasley Center, corner of Marion and Pryor streets. The breakfast is a fundraiser for the Arrowhead District of the Boy Scouts, which includes Athens and Limestone County. No admission charge, but donations accepted. Earth Day fundraiser
Dan Tera is pre-selling geraniums and “Light the Way” candles in honor of Earth Day, with proceeds going to Gulf Coast Restoration and to help provide clean water around the world.
