Mercedes hiring temps for Vance, Ala. plant

— VANCE, Ala. (AP) — Mercedes-Benz has hired the agency North American On-Site LLC to handle the hiring of more than 400 temporary production employees for its automotive assembly plant in Vance.

The Tuscaloosa News reports that Mercedes says the workers are needed to help the automaker handle a peak in vehicle demand.

A statement released by Mercedes on Thursday said applicants must meet certain criteria to be placed in the pool of qualified candidates, and the jobs will then be filled from the most qualified applicants in the pool.
