— Emery Ann Pettie, daughter of Jim and Tracy Pettie of Athens, will celebrate her eighth birthday April 20 at a sleepover party. Her birthday is April 16. She is the granddaughter of Ralph Bates and Kathy Bates, both of Athens and the late Jessie and Polly Pettie. Her great-grandmother is Irene Ware of Athens. Emery has one sister, Avery Allyn Pettie, 9.
