Readers of The News Courier showed us their creativity with cool creations from the Jan. 10 snow. We received photos of 107 entries that were published in Sunday’s print edition and posted online at enewscourier.com. More than 300 of you voted for your favorites, which are published here.
And the winners are:
• Randall Peek’s snow elephant received the highest number of reader votes.
• The Pontals’ snow ‘A’ for the University of Alabama got the second most votes.
Creator of the winning entry receives $50 cash; second prize is $25.
Stop by The News Courier at 410 W. Green St. in Athens to collect your prize.
A few other entries deserve recognition for the number of votes they received. Runners-up are:
• Big Al by Mark and Melissa Harbin of Toney and John and Joan Ramey of Harvest.
• A polar bear created by mother-and-daughter team Jennifer White and Shelby Wages of Athens.
• A snow fort created by cousins Nicole Mitchell, Rachel Goodwin, Seth Goodwin, Olivia Goodwin and Amy Rae Clines. Construction took two days, they said.
