County arrests

Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Thursday:

• Timothy Salone Barnett, 22, of 1700 Linton Road, Athens, third-degree theft

• Robert Evans Lewis III, 33, of 126 S. Mountain Drive, Decatur, holding for court

• Rodney Antwion Matthews, 30, of 15936 Landview Lane, Athens, possession of a controlled substance

• Angelica Mendoza, 25, of 1200 Woodridge Drive, Apt. 506, Athens, third-degree burglary

• Tyler Ray Puckett, 21, of 22380 Black Road, Athens, second-degree theft

• Kenneth Ray Russell, 32, of Budget Inn, Athens, being held for Athens, Tenn. law-enforcement on rape charge

• Randolph Scott, 65, of 24747 U.S. 72 East, Athens, negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument

• Marcus Ladell Seay, 28, of 21720 Piney Chapel, Lot 67, Athens, bond revoked on previous charge of third-degree robbery

• Kenndall Jo Summers, 20, of 30472 Highland Drive, Ardmore, Tenn., possession of a controlled substance (Limestone County Community Corrections Program)

• Justin Wayne Varnes, 30, of 24408 Copeland Road, Athens, two counts of negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument

County thefts

Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following theft Thursday:

• ATHENS — Medication, valued at $96, stolen Jan. 24 in 20000 block Temprance Oak Road

City arrests

Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Thursday:

• Timothy Michael Tucker, 31, of 21720 Piney Chapel Road, Lot 41, Athens, harassment

• Marcus Jermaine Smith, 33, of 432 Autumnwood Drive SW, Decatur, making a false report to law-enforcement authorities

• Donnie Clay Goode, 55, of 1104 N. Hine St., Athens, sentenced from court to 26 days

• Peter Keith Fritz, 55, of 501 S. Madison St., Athens, identity theft and first-degree theft warrants (for Florence Police Department)

City thefts

Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Thursday:

• Various clothes and shoes, cash, bank account documents and Alabama picture and frame, total value $900, stolen Dec. 21, 2012, in 1400 block Elm Street

• Criminal mischief damage estimated at $250 to Toyota RAV4 on Jan. 29 in 100 block U.S. 31 North

• Unpaid room rent amounting to $2,891 in first-degree theft of services between Nov. 28, 2012 and Jan. 29, 2013, in 1400 block Thrasher Boulevard

• $457 cash stolen Jan. 29 in 22000 block U.S. 72 East

•  Two Chevrolet Cavalier vehicle tires, valued at $300, damaged in criminal mischief Jan. 31 in 200 block Southwind Drive
