Second round baseball schedule set
The dates and times are set for the second round prep baseball series:

Athens secures home field advantage for playoffs
Athens scored two goals during a two minute stretch on either side of halftime to complete its area slate unbeaten and earn the right to host a first round playoff game. Devin Hooie’s corner with less than two minutes to play until halftime bounced off an East Limestone player and into the goal for the game’s opening goal.

Ardmore to host Madison Co. in 2nd round
Ardmore will stay at home for its second-round playoff series Friday. The Tigers will host Madison County Friday at 5 and 7 p.m.

Athens girls soccer team benefits from tough schedule
The beefed-up schedule is geared toward not only getting Athens back to that title game, but finally winning the school’s first soccer trophy.

Three local teams will begin postseason play Friday, April 19, in the AHSAA baseball playoffs. Athens Bible and Ardmore will host first-round playoff games while West Limestone hits the road for its first-round game.
