East-West kick off spring football games Friday
East and West Limestone have not met on the football field for more than 10 years. On Friday, the rivalry will be renewed in a spring football game at 6 p.m. in Capshaw.

Ardmore golf team headed back to state
In pouring rain, Ardmore shot a 335 as a team to finish second behind Guntersville, which won the section by shooting 310.
Ardmore was led once again by junior Lee Hodges, who was the low medalist with a score of 66. The next closest golfer to Hodges shot a 75. -

RIVALS COLLIDE
In a battle of top five teams, No. 1 Athens will host No. 5 East Limestone at 4 p.m. Saturday for a chance to advance to the state tournament in Huntsville. It’s the third meeting between the teams this season.

A record-setting season for the West Limestone girls soccer squad came to an abrupt end Tuesday night in picturesque Jones Valley, as No. 6 Randolph defeated the No. 7 Wildcats 2-0 to advance to the third round of the Class 1A-4A state playoffs.
The Raiders (12-6-4), the state runner-up last season, will play at No. 1 John Paul Catholic III on Saturday with the winner advancing to the Final Four. This was the third straight season the Raiders eliminated West in the postseason. -
East Limestone beats Fort Payne to set up rematch with No. 1 Athens
East Limestone advanced to the second round of the 5A playoffs Tuesday with a 2-0 win at Fort Payne.
