Clutch free-throw shooting pushed Ardmore past Clements in the opening round of the Limestone County Tournament Monday. Myles Noblitt led all Ardmore scorers with 18 points as Ardmore held on for a 57-55 win.
Noblitt led the way from the charity stripe, shooting 6-for-7 from the line. As a team, Ardmore made 11 of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter to advance in the opening round of the tournament.
Ben Hargrove added 13 points while Dylan Glover and Robby Stevenson each scored nine points for the Tigers. Seth Hamilton led all-scorers for Clements with 21 points including four three-point baskets.
Ardmore advanced to play Tanner Thursday at 8 p.m.
Sydney Houston and Victoria Waite combined for 27 points as Tanner cruised into the second round of the Limestone County Tournament Monday.
Houston scored 14 and Waite added 13 as the only scorers in double figures.
A close game until halftime, outscored the visitors 18-0 in the third quarter to pull away.
Tanner will play No. 1 seed East Limestone Thursday at 6 p.m.
