Pugh stands out for West to earn Player of the Week honors

Logan Pugh is the News Courier's Player of the WeekLogan Pugh, West Limestone: The junior accounted for more than half his team’s points in West Limestone’s 54-53 4-OT win over Clements last week. Pugh carried the ball 14 times for 86 yards and three touchdowns. The versatile running back also caught a touchdown pass and added a two-point conversion run. Honorable mention: Demarcus JohnsonDemarcus Johnson, Clements: Johnson carried the ball 20 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns and had four receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Marcus McNaughton, ClementsMarcus McNaughton, Clements: The Colts’ quarterback had a career-best in a losing effort Friday, accounting for six touchdowns. McNaughton completed 13-of-26 pass attempts for 324 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. He also ran another touchdown in the fourth quarter.
