Toney man charged with reckless murder in fatal Limestone County wreck

A Toney man has been charged with reckless murder in the Dec. 12 fatal wreck on Old Railroad Bed Road in Limestone County in which two people died and three others were injured.

Jose Guadalupe Ibarra Morante, 44, of 27558 Spruce Road was arrested Monday morning in the Limestone County Jail, where he has been since the accident.

State troopers believe his actions caused the deadly five-car wreck.

Richard Doty, 66, and his passenger, Doris Cory, 62, were killed in the head-on collision. Another passenger in their car, Christine Doty, 14, of Toney, was injured. Kenneth Mangrum, 47, driver of a 2005 Toyota, and passenger Pamela Mangrum, 42, both of Harvest, were also injured.
