Two Limestone County schools were locked down Friday afternoon after a man robbed CB&S; in Ardmore, Tenn., which is just across the Alabama state line at 26314 Main St.
Local law-enforcement officers were searching for the suspect, who is described as a black male standing 5-feet, four-inches to 5-feet, 6-inches tall, wearing a black jacket, Ray-Ban sunglasses and a Miller beer hat. He left the scene in an older, white Oldsmobile with a red top.
Ardmore Police Department is leading the investigation but was not releasing further information at this time.
Students at Ardmore High School and Cedar Hill Elementary School were confined to the school after authorities alerted them to the robbery.
The two Limestone school received the all clear about 3 p.m. after school officials received word that the robber was headed toward Tennessee, said Limestone County Assistant Superintendent Mike Owens.
