Hoping to create a downtown space for local artists to work and sell their wares, Jim Batson, right, president of H.C. Blake Co. of Huntsville, which recently bought W.E. Estes & Son plumbing and electrical service business in downtown Athens; Trisha Black, executive director of Spirit of Athens; and Andrew Sneed of H.C. Blake examine the old cotton warehouse behind the West Washington Street business. The plan is to turn part of the warehouse into an artist incubator.
