Diane Risdon of Athens receives tree seedlings from a volunteer Saturday morning at Big Spring Memorial Park. Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful, Alabama Master Gardeners, the TRAIL club and various other organizations gave away the trees of varying species to homeowners looking to do some landscaping. A member of the Limestone County Master Gardeners club said the giveaway is a statewide initiative intended to restore some of the growth lost during the April 27, 2011, tornado outbreak.
